Identify the legal company
Ask for the agency’s full legal name, license reference, official business contact and the legal entity on the proposed travel contract. Different brands can belong to the same company; two brand names do not necessarily represent two independent proposals.
Check evidence and capability separately
Verify license information through the relevant tourism authority’s official channels. Then ask about the exact region, guide language, dates, group type and subcontracting arrangements. A valid license does not prove that a specific guide, vehicle or hotel has been secured.
Understand the contract and merchant
Check who signs, who receives payment, who processes refunds and who answers during the trip. Independently reconfirm changed payment instructions through a known business contact. An unexpected personal account or unexplained third party needs clarification before payment.
Look for practical answers
Ask how the agency handles a missed connection, unavailable attraction, dietary request or guide change. Written inclusions and a clear escalation route are more useful than sweeping promises. Keep the version and date of the proposal you are discussing.
Our limited comparison scope
ChinaTourCo compares proposals from participating agencies for an enquiry when available. It does not claim to assess every agency in China or guarantee the lowest market price.
